| Dinner at St Andrews |
In Early December of 2009 we arrived in NYC to have a fun time during the holiday season. The first night was a great dinner at St Andrews, the site of our first get together in the spring of 2003.
West Side Story
We followed dinner by attending West Side Story which is now playing on Broadway. This was a historic play
for all of us, because it originally played on Broadway when we were growing up together and it was about our neighborhood. This version was done bilingually which a lot of the audience did not like, but most of us thought made it more authentic.
Murray and Rita Braunstein came with us and we waited with them for their ride back home after the play when we took this group shot.
On Friday we spent time at Rockefeller Center where many of us ice skated in our youth. Nothing like Christmas season in NYC. Below is a shot of the tree.
Below is a group shot taken from across the street in front of St Patricks.
We also toured St Patricks Cathedral
which was decorated for the Christmas season. Below is the Manger they had set up in the Cathedral.
We also took in the Rockettes Christmas show in Radio City Music Hall.
Brunch at Jing Fong in Chinatown
On Saturday Stan led us into he bowels of Chinatown to an authentic restaurant called Jing Fong. Needless to say, we let Stan do the ordering and the food just kept coming.
We followed that up with a walk to Little Italy and dessert at Ferrara's. Dessert and a cappuccino actually cost more than lunch did !
Dinner at Kellari
That night we had dinner at our favorite Greek restaurant, Kellari Taverna on 44th St. The fish is always great and the lamb is even better. Harvey swears he found the same fish on ice that he ordered several years ago !
Sunday we capped off our trip with brunch at the Braunstein's. Phil showed Murray (and internet Annette !) what our web page looked like and we all enjoyed hearing Murray and Rita tell us about what great kids we were in the old days.
Till Next year !
